Los Angeles City Councilmember Tom LaBonge has announced that four journalists from Brazil, Germany, New Zealand and Taiwan have been selected to participate in a week-long journalism fellowship program designed to increase awareness and appreciation of Los Angeles by residents of its 24 Sister Cities around the world and to increase tourism to Los Angeles from those regions.

LA INC. The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau lauds the signing of an agreement Tuesday (December 11) between the United States and China, making it possible for Chinese leisure groups to travel to the U.S. for the first time.

The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau is seeking applications from qualified arts, lifestyle and/or travel journalists from countries in which Los Angeles has a Sister City for a weeklong, all-expense-paid professional fellowship program to learn first-hand about the city’s abundant culture and diverse communities.

More than 6,500 business travel buyers, suppliers, industry leaders and business travel journalists will be attending the 2008 NBTA International Convention & Exposition July 27-30, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
More than a quarter of LA’s domestic and international visitors are business travelers.
