Bryan Churchill Named Vice President, Hotel Sales for LA INC. The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau

Bryan Churchill, a seasoned hospitality executive, was recently named Vice President of Hotel Sales at LA INC. The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau. In his new position, Churchill is responsible for driving all hotel and non-citywide sales.

Churchill comes to LA INC. from Marriott International where he was area sales leader.  Churchill led Marriott’s sales transformation reorganization and implementation.  He directed the sales effort for Marriott’s 16-hotel area of South Los Angeles – made up of six full-service and 10 select service hotels and 10 ownership groups.  Churchill also served as area director of sales and marketing for The LAX Gateway Connection, which included the Renaissance LAX and Marriott LAX Hotels.

“Bryan brings extensive experience in the hospitality industry that will serve our community partners well,” said Mark Liberman, president and CEO of LA INC. “I’m confident that he will be able to lead a team that will grow hotel sales in the City of Los Angeles.  He’s built a strong reputation for creativity, teamwork, and development and will be an asset to our LA INC. team.”

This new position is part of LA INC.’s reorganization as the result of the implementation of the Tourism Marketing District (TMD), a new funding source that will provide approximately an additional $10 million to sell and market Los Angeles as a compelling destination for meetings, citywide conventions and leisure travel.  The Los Angeles hotel industry implemented the TMD to create a sustainable revenue source for marketing Los Angeles to visitors.

“Churchill’s experience working with renowned hotel properties will make him a valuable resource for the partners and staff at LA INC.,” said Bruce Gorelick, general manager of the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel and chairman of LA INC.’s Hotel Sales Committee. “We look forward to working with Bryan in this new, all-important leadership role.”

Churchill has received several awards including Marriott’s North American Lodging Association’s Sales Leader of the Year and Marriott’s Western Region Sales Leader of the Year. He is also a member of Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and California Society of Association Executives (CSAE).

Churchill holds a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management from California Polytechnic University at Pomona. He also attended the culinary and wine training program at Beringer Winery School of Hospitality.
