Travel Alternatives Group (TAG) is a program founded in 1992 that recognizes gay-friendly hotel properties worldwide. In Los Angeles, many hotels have met the criteria to become TAG-approved. In order for a hotel property to be TAG approved, they must meet the following criteria:
- Enforce non-discriminatory policies including “sexual orientation.”
- Treat heterosexual and domestic partners equally in personnel policies.
- Provide diversity and sensitivity training for employees.
- Empower customers and employees to be “watchdogs” of its gay and lesbian business practices.
