LOS ANGELES (October 24, 2023)Los Angeles Tourism is delighted to announce the Arts District has been named one of the coolest neighborhoods in the world by Time Out. Ranked on the greatest location for fun, food, culture and community, the flourishing neighborhood comes in at #13 in the recent annual index. Once in an industrial zone, LA’s Art District has transformed to a trendy hub for creatives and travelers alike. Expect to find the greatest in dining, coffee shops, breweries, cocktail bars and of course art, at every corner.

“The Arts District is the perfect example of how the LA experience is continuously evolving. Once the manufacturing hub of Los Angeles, it’s come to epitomize adaptive reuse, featuring an influx of boutique hotels, innovative restaurants, local artisans, and the vibrant murals and street art that are synonymous with our City of Angels,” said Adam Burke, President & CEO, Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board. “We couldn’t agree more that The Arts District is one of the world’s coolest neighborhoods and a must-see on your next trip to LA!”

Nestled near Little Tokyo and sitting on one side of the new Sixth Street Viaduct, the neighborhood boasts plenty of options for a day or weekend visit. With the new Little Tokyo/Arts District Metro Regional Connector station that opened this summer, getting there is quick and easy. Michelin-starred meals can be found at Hayato, Kato and Camphor or for laid-back bites and drinks head to La Cha Cha Cha or Everson Royce Bar. Neighborhood favorites include Bavel for middle-eastern cuisine and open air ambiance and Bestia, offering Italian-inspired cuisine.

Looking ahead to what is to come in the neighborhood, plenty of new art exhibits will debut this fall. Paper Route, an exhibition focusing on the works of Paper opens on October 14 at Art Share L.A., James Razko: Casting Shadows opens on October 21 at the Anna Zorina Gallery and Gongkan: Monsters In You as well as Invader: Camouflages & Devils Tower will open September 23 at Over The Influence gallery.
