Universal Studios Hollywood is at it again, this time with The Simpsons Ride, Los Angeles' new exhilarating and hilarious adventure. The mega-attraction is now open, and if you’re as excited as we are, you’re spending all your time digging up information about the ride.
So who exactly is the mastermind behind it all? Is there any doubt it's that gut-busting, neurotic class act, Krusty the Clown? Yes, the word on the street is that the folks at Universal Studios temporarily lost their minds and signed some kind of deal with Krusty to create Los Angeles' own “Krustyland,” a theme park within a theme park. According to Krusty, it is "not a shameless rip-off" of other amusement parks in LA. In fact, we have reason to believe it’s delightfully crooked and packed with laughs.
Of course, Krusty hasn’t forgotten his friends from Springfield. All our favorite characters have traveled to Universal Studios Hollywood, prepared to make their cameos in the one-of-a-kind motion simulator ride. Apparently, the clown has enough brains to hire geeky scientists to incorporate groundbreaking, highly sophisticated audio and visual technology to make the ride a spectacularly realistic virtual adventure (i.e. “totally awesome”).
So what’s the inside scoop? To get top secret information, we’ve morphed into Simpsons mode and sneaked into Krustyland to get the low-down on what Krusty calls “an upsy-downsy, spins-aroundsy, teen-operated thrill ride.”
