Details: The Rose Bowl has been celebrating the Fourth of July for 83 years, so you better believe that they know how to put on a good time. Live performances from marching bands across the country will get things started, while the evening culminates at 9 p.m. with a huge fireworks show.

Details: There’s something romantic about fireworks shooting over open water, especially if they’re over the main channel of Marina del Rey. Every year, visitors gather at Burton Chace Park and Fisherman’s Village for front-row seats.
LA Coliseum 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza (with Futbol All-Stars)Where: Los Angeles Sports Arena
When: July 4, kickoff game begins at 5 p.m., fireworks at 9 p.m.

Details: Tied into the Inaugural Futbol All-Stars Event, a new one-of-a-kind soccer invitational featuring stars from all over the world, the Coliseum’s 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza features 60 minutes of beautiful explosions. Go for the game, stay for the fireworks (or vice versa).
Annual Independence Day Celebration at Hansen DamWhere: Hansen Dam Recreation Area (San Fernando Valley)

Details: The celebration at Hansen Dam is the biggest Fourth of July event in the Valley. Picnics are popular, as is the 1.5-acre swimming lake, while live entertainment and food booths create a carnival-esque atmosphere until the fireworks show.

Details: One of LA’s best free fireworks show, Exposition Park’s extravaganza draws some 5,000 attendees each year. Best viewing spots: Christmas Tree Lane (north of the LA Memorial Sports Arena) and South Lawn (south of Natural History Museum).
