Inaugural LA Cultural Photo Tour

On Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, LA INC. The Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau hosted the inaugural LA Cultural Photo Tour; sponsored by Starline Tours.

The tour coincided with LA INC.'s Discover the Arts in Los Angeles program that is running through the end of April (offering the public up to 50% savings at cultural institutions around the county).

The tour followed Starline's popular Hop-on, Hop-off route and stopped at several cultural institutions from Hollywood to Downtown to the Westside.

8:30 a.m. (Hollywood & Highland)

Locations to photograph: Starline Tours kiosk, LA INC. Visitor Information Center, El Capitan Theatre, Hollywood Museum at Max Factor, Egyptian Theatre, Grauman's Chinese Theatre, Silver Screen Statues off of La Brea, etc.

9:15 a.m. (Hollywood & Vine)

Locations to photograph (pull over): Pantages Theatre (exterior architectural photos of theatre leaving out the marquee because it's not perennial) and the new W Hotel (exterior only).

10:15 a.m. (Olvera Street)

Locations to photograph (pit stop): Avila Adobe (photos of interior are needed)

10:45 a.m. (Little Tokyo)

Locations to photograph (slow drive by): Little Tokyo/Japanese American National Museum

11 a.m. (City Hall)

Locations to photograph (slow drive by): Cal Trans/Police HQ/City Hall

11:15 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. (Our Lady of the Angels)

Locations to photograph (pit stop): Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels (photos of interior as well as exterior)

Noon - 12:30 p.m. (Disney Hall)

Locations to photograph (pit stop): Walt Disney Concert Hall (garden shots needed)

12:45 p.m. (L.A. LIVE)

Locations to photograph (pit stop): GRAMMY Museum (tour inside optional or walk around L.A. LIVE).

1:45 p.m. (Wilshire & Western)

Locations to photograph (slow drive by): Board bus w/ lunch from Pitfire Pizza. Downtown to Westside via Wilshire. Pullover at Bullocks Wilshire, the Wiltern and Wilshire/Vermont Metro Station.

2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. (Museum Row)

Locations to photograph (pit stop): La Brea Tar Pits (photos of the Page Museum and the Japanese Pavilion are needed).

4:15 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. (Annenberg Space for Photography)

Locations to photograph (pit stop): Annenberg Space for Photography

5:30 p.m. (Sunset Strip)

Locations to photograph (slow drive by): Sunset Strip back to Hollywood & Highland
