Armed Forces Day

The city of Torrance will host its 63nd annual Armed Forces Day Parade and Celebration May 16-18, 2025 to honor the United States Army, which celebrates its 250th birthday this year. This is the longest-running Armed Forces Day Parade in the nation with about 60,000 attendees cheering on the parade each year.
Military exhibits including aircraft, vehicles and support equipment, will be on display on Saturday in the Del Amo Fashion Center parking lot just east of the Lifestyle Wing as part of the celebration. Two free concerts will also be held at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 17th at the James Armstrong Theatre, 3330 Civic Center Drive.
The seventh annual 5K for Freedom Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, May 187h at 8 a.m beginning at the Del Amo Fashion Center. All participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt upon crossing the finish line and have the honor of running/walking alongside American heroes.
The 5K winners will be invited to ride in the Torrance Armed Forces Day parade at 1:30 p.m.. The parade route travels along beautiful Torrance Blvd., lined with eucalyptus trees, and passes by Torrance City Hall and the LA Galaxy Soccer Center.
