A Note from TMD Chairman, Javier Cano - October 2020

Frieze Los Angeles 2024
Dear TMD Hoteliers,We know this continues to be a difficult time for our community and recognize the drastic impact upon the tourism and hospitality industry in Los Angeles.   The Tourism Marketing District, together with our partner, Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, sees our role to actively support recovery of our industry as we face the long-term challenges of COVID 19.   In talking with many of you, it is clear we have come to recognize we must work more closely than ever to rebuild a united community towards a safe and sustainable path to recovery.  While we must wait for the State to allow the reopenings of meetings, we also want to send a clear message to L.A. County Public Health (Public Health) that the hospitality sector of Los Angeles is here to support their goal of safely and responsibly reopening.Every TMD lodging property can help send a clear message of support by enlisting in Public Health’s program, COVID-19 Safety Compliance Certificate Program which is extremely important to them. Receiving a Safety Compliance Certificate is simple, as it requires watching a training video and completing a brief survey. You will then receive an emailed certificate to post at all public entrances at your property, in lieu of the full protocols (which must be kept for review, upon request). On behalf of the TMD Board of Directors, we ask you to show your support by enrolling your hotel before the end of the year to amplify the voice of the hotels and motels in Los Angeles.Kind Regards,Javier CanoChairman, TMD Board
