You’re a resourceful jetsetter, with refined taste. While you always search for conveniently located accommodations, you’re not interested in sacrificing upscale amenities just because you’re next door to the airport. As luck would have it, you really can have the best of both worlds at the sleek, modern, inclusive and airport adjacent Hyatt Regency LAX.

You’re shuttled to the Hyatt LAX from baggage claim in minutes, and swiftly greeted by the smiling concierge holding court in the tastefully modern lobby. They welcome you to Los Angeles by running through an exhaustive list of extras you’re invited to enjoy during your stay. You can’t help but notice that this does not feel at all like a typical airport-adjacent hotel, and that’s precisely the way you want it.

The concierge lets you know that the largest outdoor pool in the area, 24-hour room service, double-paned soundproof windows, free Wi-Fi, and complimentary water and juice in your Studio Suite One King Bed are yours for the taking. If you’d prefer to run or walk outside instead of visiting the 24-hour state-of-the-art fitness center, they would be happy to provide you with local running and walking trails. You’re also within easy drives to South Bay beaches, the Getty Center, Beverly Hills, and Hollywood. As such, you immediately make a note that next time you’re in L.A., you’ll add another day onto your travels, just to explore what’s nearby.

Your spacious, 1,000+ square-foot suite is simply perfect. Aside from the incredible views, you’d never know you were so close to one of the nation’s busiest airports, because it really is that quiet. Your suite boasts a living area, dining area, and a kitchenette, along with open studio space, all decorated in subtle cool tones, with thoughtfully placed pops of color, including in the modern art adorning the walls. You test out your king-size Hyatt Grand Bed™ and find that it is totally dreamy, and in all honesty more comfortable than your own bed. Plus, the 55” flat screen TV is an upgrade from your television at home. Tonight you’ll probably pull the blackout shades - for now, the view is too pretty to shut out.

In the bathroom, you’re thrilled to find KenetMD bath and body toiletries, along with a rainfall shower. You decide that tomorrow before you head back to the airport for your long flight across the globe, you’ll enjoy a fresh cup of illy coffee. For now, you grab a bottle of water and change into your swimsuit, to soak up the California sunshine while you can.

True to the concierge’s word, the pool is massive and perfectly heated. After a few laps, you take to the lounge chair to absorb a bit of sun, before moving to the shaded cabana. After all, the last thing you need heading into your travels is a sunburn.

After you’ve had your fill of the sun and the views, you decide that a workout is in order, since you’ll be sitting for long flights tomorrow.  Following a quick change in your room, you head to the Hyatt’s StayFit™ fitness center which boasts up-close and personal views of the runways at LAX, that you can enjoy from the treadmill, step machine or bike. You top off your cardio with weight training and plenty of stretching before heading back to your suite to get ready for dinner.

At unity la™ Restaurant, you’re delighted to find a dinner menu that reflects LA’s Latin and Asian influence. You start with the Shrimp Ceviche Tostada, which is perfectly refreshing, but not too filling that you won’t have room for your California Green Salad. The salad—with figs, pistachios, goat cheese and dried cherries—is equally light and delicious, and you’ve still got room for your entrée of Drunken Noodles. It arrives with fried eggs, Chinese broccoli, and crispy tofu - the result is savory, but not heavy. That’s a good thing, since you’ve had your eye on the “Churro” Waffle and Ice Cream dessert dish, which sounds too delicious to pass up.

You’ve got a long day tomorrow, but one cocktail before bed won’t hurt, so you head to the unity la™ Bar, where you opt for the Ginger Jetstream, which pairs Tanqueray with blackberries, fresh sour and ginger beer. It’s the perfect way to cap off the evening.

As you drift off to sleep, you decide that tomorrow you’ll stop by the unity la™ Market for a breakfast to sustain you through your long journey. And you decide that the next time your globetrotting ways have you passing through, or visiting LA, the Hyatt Regency LAX will definitely be on your itinerary.
