Within six blocks of the hotel you can walk to more than 40 restaurants. However, for dinner she encourages you to try the onsite Runway restaurant, which has been named a Surfrider Foundation Ocean Friendly Restaurant. Runway serves farm-to-table cuisine and offers vegan and vegetarian menus, with a concentration on local, sustainable companies and vendors. Moreover, Runway boasts its own herb garden, and serves cage free eggs. The eco-friendly design includes menus printed on seed paper, windows for natural light, LED and smart lights, and marble tabletops (no linens = no laundry).

In the meantime, if you’re ready for a snack, the onsite Market Express is at your disposal 24-hours, and is stocked with classic snacks, Starbucks coffee, kombucha, and sandwiches.

Your King Bed Corner Room continues the luxury-meets-sustainable vibe, and you couldn’t be happier about it. Gorgeous views of the mountains greet you as soon as you open the door, which is a pretty juxtaposition to the warm gray and crisp white motif. It’s modern but homey, complete with a comfy seating area inside the 465+ square-foot room.

As you flop down you take time to appreciate that the signature Hilton Serenity™ bed collection— complete with allergen-free down comforter and pillows—is as comfortable as it gets. There is also a large safe for your laptop, a refrigerator, coffeemaker, a 50” flatscreen television, large workstation with ergonomic chair, and plenty of USB ports/charging stations for your devices. The free Wi-Fi is fast.

You’re happy to see signs of the hotel’s focus on sustainability everywhere. You note the in-room “Green Tip of the Day,” the sensor lights, the recycling wastebaskets and see that Hilton Woodland Hills/Los Angeles also participates in the recycle soap program. In your bathroom, you have a lovely backlit mirror, separate shower and tub, Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries, and a low-flow toilet.

Your room is perfect, but so is the day. After a quick search online, you score free tickets to The Getty Villa, where you plan to stroll the gorgeous gardens, take in the stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, peruse the celebrated art collection, and admire the dazzling architecture. As an added bonus, you’ll drive through scenic Topanga Canyon, and may even pick out some hiking spots for the coming days.

By early evening you’re ready for an herb-infused cocktail and a delicious vegetarian meal at Runway. The service is impeccable - the Green Runway (Hendrick's Gin with fresh mint from the garden) and Sweet Corn Ravioli are incredibly tasty. By the time you return to your room, curl up in your King bed, and turn to HBO to catch up on your show, you can rest easy knowing that here at the Hilton Woodland Hills, you can keep your personal commitment to sustainability, while still feeling totally spoiled.
