The Turntable Trio - 2220 Arts + Archives (April 7)
The Turntable Trio - Maria Chávez, Evicshen and Mariam Rezaei - merge vinyl DJ techniques with sound art in performances that focus on the unexpected. The three turntablists have their own inventive way of working the ones and twos (Evicshen is known for playing with needles embedded in her acrylic nails) and will be playing solo sets at 2220 Arts + Archives, in addition to their performance as a trio. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - The Regent (April 8)
Late last year, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah released the 20th anniversary edition of their self-titled debut, the album that spawned the mid-‘00s indie hit, “The Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth.” Their corresponding tour reaches Los Angeles on Tuesday night, when the band plays Downtown LA’s Regent Theatre with support from Babehaven. "The Hunger Games" Movie Party - Alamo Drafthouse (April 8)
Alamo Drafthouse Movie Parties are designed for fans who want to see their favorite films in new ways. On Tuesday, April 8, the movie is The Hunger Games and your ticket will come with a prop kit that includes a matchbook, Seneca Crane beard tattoo, nightlock berry snacks and a mini bow and arrow. Meshuggah - Kia Forum (April 9)
With the remastered “indelible edition” of 2022 album Immutable out in early April, Sweden’s Meshuggah is touring North America with fellow metal superstars Cannibal Corpse and Carcass. They’ll be at the Kia Forum on Wednesday, April 9. Tickets at Ticketmaster.

"Movie Movie" - Philosophical Research Society (April 9)
To coincide with the new season of her popular film podcast You Must Remember This, Karina Longworth hosts a screening of Stanley Donen’s 1978 film Movie Movie at Philosophical Research Society on Wednesday night. Longworth will give a detailed introduction to the film, but her episode on Donen - known for movies like Singin' in the Rain and Charade - airs the day before the screening, so give it a listen before heading to PRS. Lakers vs. Mavericks - Cosm (April 9)
Can’t make it to Dallas to catch the Lakers face off against the Mavericks for the second time since the season-altering trade that brought Luka Doncic to LA? Cosm might be the next best thing, where a dome theater provides an immersive Shared Reality view when the two teams square off at 4:30pm on April 9. Doors open an hour before game time and refreshments are available at the venue.

Vivaldi’s Four Seasons - Walt Disney Concert Hall (April 10-13)
Guest conductor Nicholas McGegan leads the LA Phil through Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons this weekend at Walt Disney Concert Hall, beginning on Thursday night. The program will also include Mozart’s Chaconne from Idomeneo and Haydn’s Symphony No. 94, “Surprise.”

"Nocturnes" - Natural History Museum (April 10)
The Natural Museum of Los Angeles County celebrates Earth Month throughout April with “Green Screen: Our Planet on Film,” a series of screenings taking place in the NHM Commons Theatre. On Thursday, April 10, NHM presents Nocturnes, a documentary that takes viewers into the world of moths living in the Himalayas. A Q&A session will take place as well, and refreshments will be served. Tickets are free with an RSVP.

Native Voices Short Play Festival - The Autry (April 10)
The 15th annual Native Voices Short Play Festival continues on Thursday, April 10 as part of The Autry’s After Hours programming. The evening includes staged readings of new works from emerging Native American playwrights who are competing for two separate awards. Performances begin at 7pm, but the museum opens an hour prior, so arrive early to check out what’s on view at The Autry.

A Night of LA Noir - Vidiots (April 10)
Classic and modern LA noir share the spotlight at Vidiots on Thursday, April 10. Jeff Daniel Phillips (The Munsters, Dexter: Original Sin) directs and stars in Cursed in Baja, which starts off the double-feature and will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers and cast. Then, catch John Boorman’s 1967 thriller Point Blank, starring Lee Marvin and Angie Dickinson. All profits from this event will be donated to the GoFundMe for Zorthian Ranch, the historic Altadena ranch and artist compound that was severely damaged during the Eaton Fire. Alok Presents Something Else - Sound (April 11)
Consistently ranked one of the world’s best DJs, Alok brings international party brand Something Else to Sound on Friday, April 11. This is the start of the 7 Days of Framework series of events happening at the Hollywood venue from April 11 to 19. If you plan on hitting up more nights in the series - which includes Sparrow & Barbossa on Saturday night; Dixon on April 16 and Eli Brown on April 18 - consider getting the 7 Days of Framework Pass.

Bullet for My Valentine & Trivium - YouTube Theater (April 11)
This year, both Trivium and Bullet for My Valentine celebrate the 20th anniversary of their landmark albums. For Trivium, it’s their sophomore effort, Ascendency; and for Bullet for My Valentine, it’s the Welsh band’s debut, The Poison. The Poisoned Ascendancy Tour brings the two metal bands together as co-headliners and earned rave reviews in the U.K. Their U.S. leg stops by YouTube Theater in Inglewood on Friday, April 11. Dodgers vs. Cubs - Dodger Stadium (April 11-13)
Freddie Freeman Bobbleheads are the promotion on Friday night for the first of the Dodgers weekend-long series against the Chicago Cubs. The Boys in Blue swept the Cubs during the Tokyo Dome series and this time around, they’ll be on home turf for the games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Los Pirañas - Lodge Room (April 11)
Los Pirañas, the Colombian psychedelic cumbia trio featuring members of Meridian Brothers, Frente Cumbiero and Romperayo are back with a new album, Una Oportunidad Más de Triunfar en la Vida; and a U.S. tour that lands at the Lodge Room on Friday, April 11. Locals Healing Gems will be opening, while El G and Madrugada will be your DJs for the night.

Ultra Sunn - 1720 (April 12)
For the past few years, Belgian duo Ultra Sunn has been dropping bangers like “Keep Your Eyes Peeled” and “Broken Monsters” that keep LA’s darkwave club crowd running to the dance floor. Catch them live at 1720 on Saturday, April 12, with special guest TBA and support from local DJ Eser. Tickets at Etix.

Attack on Titan: Beyond the Walls Tour - Dolby Theatre (April 12-13)
Anime series Attack on Titan took the world by storm during its nearly decade-long run. This weekend, fans can experience the blockbuster’s score from composers Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto in concert at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre. A 2pm matinee and 8pm evening performance are scheduled for Saturday, April 12 and tickets are running low for both, so act fast. There’s also a matinee scheduled for Sunday.

The Avett Brothers - Greek Theatre (April 12)
Folk rock faves The Avett Brothers, whose tunes recently hit Broadway in the musical Swept Away, return to Los Angeles on Saturday, April 12 for a night at The Greek Theatre. Gates open 90 minutes before showtime. Tickets at AXS.

"The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie" - The Novo (April 12)
In 2004, SpongeBob SquarePants made the jump from cable TV to the big screen. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie returns for a special Saturday night screening at The Novo in L.A. LIVE. Joining in on the fun is the voice of SpongeBob himself, Tom Kenney, who will participate in a post-film Q&A with fan-submitted questions. Tickets at AXS.

John C. Reilly is Mister Romantic - Largo (April 12)
In mid-March, John C. Reilly dropped his first single as the comedian’s crooner alter ego, Mister Romantic. With a debut full-length of standards set to drop in June, the entertainer takes the stage at Largo on Saturday, April 12. Tickets at See Tickets.

Ramón Ayala - Intuit Dome (April 12)
With a career spanning more than 50 years and multiple GRAMMY Awards, the legendary "King of the Accordion" Ramón Ayala brings his Historia de un Final farewell tour to Intuit Dome on Saturday, April 12. Tickets at Ticketmaster.

Bob Baker Day - LA State Historic Park (April 13)
The 11th annual Bob Baker Day is taking place at LA State Historic Park from 10am to 5pm on Sunday, April 13. A celebration of the late founder of LA’s historic puppet theater, this free, family-friendly festival brings together music, art and members of the Bob Baker Marionette Theater for an afternoon filled with delights for all ages. This year’s theme is “Healing Through the Arts” and, while there is no cover, RSVPs at Eventbrite are required and suggested $20 donations are accepted.
