Gloria Molina Grand Park 4th of July Block Party
Gloria Molina Grand Park presents one of its signature events, the 4th of July Block Party, from 4pm to 9:30pm! This year’s event features arts activities, sports games, live music, and dance, with dozens of LA’s favorite food trucks and DJs spinning genres from hip-hop to reggaeton, funk, and more. Enjoy the return of the Gloria Molina Grand Park Ferris Wheel and an innovative drone show by Grizzly Entertainment. This is a free, inclusive event for all ages and backgrounds; fostering connections, allyship, and mutual support. Come celebrate and experience the true spirit of community!
Dodger Stadium (July 2-4, 2024)
For Dodger fans, there's always the hope for some fireworks from the Boys in Blue. The Dodgers host the Arizona Diamondbacks from July 2-4, including Japanese Heritage Night on Tuesday, July 2; Bobby Miller Bobblehead giveaway on July 3; and a fireworks show on July 4.
"Independence Day" - Rooftop Cinema Club
Rooftop Cinema Club offers a premier outdoor movie experience at LEVEL in Downtown LA. On July 4th, RCC presents a screening of Independence Day (1996) starring Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum. Arrive early when doors open at 6:40pm and enjoy rooftop views, a live acoustic set of Americana, and frosty beverages at the bar. Tickets are $65 and include access to the rooftop party, a plate of BBQ and soft drink. Seating is first-come, first-served.
"JAWS" - Alamo Drafthouse (July 3-4, 2024)
The first Los Angeles location of the acclaimed Alamo Drafthouse theatre chain is located at The Bloc in Downtown LA. Alamo's Movie Parties are interactive experiences for fans that include fun props, themed drinks and more.
On July 3 and 4, Alamo is screening Steven Spielberg's original Jaws (1975) - a bonafide classic with everything you need in a summer movie, from drunken sea shanties to Richard Dreyfuss in a shark cage and John Williams' iconic score. Tickets to the Movie Parties include Shark Hats and Yellow Floatie Drink Holders.
Universal Studios Hollywood
Universal Studios Hollywood celebrates the Fourth of July with a dazzling fireworks display, live music performances, specially themed décor and more - it's all included in the price of admission!
From the moment guests walk along the iconic red carpet and enter the world-famous theme park, they will be immersed in July 4th festivities. Beginning at 9pm, an elaborate fireworks display will splash across the sky, synchronized to a score of Universal-themed music and patriotic favorites from locations inside the park.
Adding to the summer fun, guests can delight in the return of The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle, featuring an incredible light projection experience, while they enjoy the magical land of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™.
Harry Connick, Jr - Hollywood Bowl (July 2-4, 2024)
Harry Connick, Jr headlines one of LA's greatest summer traditions, the July 4th Fireworks Spectacular at the Hollywood Bowl. The GRAMMY and Emmy Award winner and his band will perform at the Bowl over three nights, accompanied by Thomas Wilkins and the LA Phil. Tickets are now on sale - kids 12 and under are half-price!
Cinespia: "Rocky" + Fireworks - Hollywood Forever
One of LA's most popular outdoor movie series, Cinespia presents Rocky and a dazzling fireworks show at the landmark Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The winner of three Oscars - including Best Picture - Rocky stars Sylvester Stallone in the title role, Talia Shire as his girlfriend Adrian, and the late great Carl Weathers as Apollo Creed. Doors at 7:15pm, movie at 9pm and fireworks post-screening. Guests are invited to bring their own picnic, including beer and wine. Tickets are on sale at Cinespia, as well as on-site and off-site parking.
"Xanadu" - Academy Museum
On July 4th, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures presents a screening of Xanadu (1980), starring pop icon Olivia Newton-John as the Muse of Dance; the legendary Gene Kelly as a former big band leader; and Michael Beck (The Warriors) as a frustrated painter. With Newton-John's help, Kelly and Beck team up to create Xanadu, the roller disco of their dreams, in LA’s Pan Pacific Park. The imaginative musical fantasy has developed a loyal fan base in the four decades since its release, helped by its colorful visual effects and catchy original songs performed by Newton-John and Electric Light Orchestra.
LA Galaxy vs LAFC - Rose Bowl Stadium
LAFC and the LA Galaxy will renew their crosstown rivalry with a marquee match at Rose Bowl Stadium on July 4, featuring the West Coast's longest-running fireworks display, tributes to Veterans and pre-match tailgating. The 20th edition of "El Tráfico," held on July 4th last year at the Rose Bowl, set the Major League Soccer stand-alone attendance record of 82,110 fans, with the Galaxy earning a 2-1 victory over LAFC.
Rose Bowl Stadium served as the home venue for the LA Galaxy from 1996-2002 and will once again provide the biggest stage for LA's marquee soccer rivalry. The Fourth of July match will mark the 28th MLS regular-season match held on July 4th for the LA Galaxy.
Mr. & Ms. Muscle Beach
World-famous Muscle Beach in Venice hosts its annual bodybuilding and figure competition every July 4th. Pre-judging begins at 10am and the finals take place at 1pm. Taking place at the Venice Beach Recreation Center, the competition is open to all amateur athletes with a $150 entry fee. Admission is free to the public.
Marina del Rey 4th of July Fireworks
One of Marina del Rey's most popular annual events, the 4th of July Fireworks Show is back with a 20-minute display that starts at 9pm. The pyrotechnics will be synchronized to music played over loudspeakers at Burton Chace Park (13650 Mindanao Way) and Fisherman's Village (13755 Fiji Way). The fireworks will be shot from a barge off the Marina’s south jetty. View the show from virtually anywhere in Marina del Rey, Venice Pier, Playa Vista and Dockweiler Beach.
City Cruises is offering special July 4th cruises: the two-hour Sights & Sips Cruise from 7:30-9:30pm; and a three-hour Premier Dinner Cruise (7-10pm) with gourmet buffet, DJ and optional Top Shelf Bar Packages.
Alternatively, you can charter a private yacht to get the ultimate close-up view. Find information about companies properly licensed to operate charters in the Marina at the Visit Marina del Rey website.
Early arrival is strongly suggested. Parking is limited and local street closures are planned to start as early as 1pm in some areas.
74th Annual July 4th Spectacular - Cabrillo Beach
Sponsored by the Port of Los Angeles and organized by the Cabrillo Beach Boosters, the 74th Annual July 4th Spectacular features music, family activities and food trucks, leading up to a spectacular fireworks show at Cabrillo Beach!
July 4th Celebration - Six Flags Magic Mountain (July 4-6, 2024)
The "Thrill Capital of the World," Six Flags Magic Mountain presents the annual July 4th Celebration from Thursday to Saturday, July 4-6. Adrenaline junkies can experience heart-pounding thrills on Wonder Woman: Flight of Courage and West Coast Racers; the craziest twists and loops on Viper and X2; and the steepest drops on Twisted Colossus and Goliath. Fireworks at 9:15pm - Six Flags recommends the Full Throttle Plaza, DC Universe and Main Gate Plaza for the best viewing.
Tickets are on sale at the Six Flags Magic Mountain website, with an optional VIP Package that includes reserved viewing in the Full Throttle Plaza from 8-10pm; two bites from Max’d Out Mac & Screaming Spuds; and unlimited drinks at the Coca-Cola Refill Station.
Ronald Reagan Library 4th of July Celebration
Taking place from 10am to 3pm, the 4th of July Celebration at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library includes live patriotic music, family entertainment, picnic games, arts & crafts, photo ops with presidential lookalikes and more. At noon, the Reagan Library will unveil the Charters of Freedom Monument - the first in California, the monument includes life-size replicas of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
