Now in its fifth year, the 2015 LA Bluegrass Situation is taking place at the landmark Greek Theatre on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015. The festival will feature a full day of the best roots music in Los Angeles, along with food, fun and activities for the whole family. The Bluegrass Situation kicks off in the afternoon with a variety of local BBQ favorites and craft beers, games and live music at the Greek Theatre plaza, followed by headlining performances under the stars at the iconic venue.

“I can't imagine a more perfect autumn Saturday in Los Angeles,” said actor Ed Helms, co-founder of The Bluegrass Situation. “A full day festival with amazing roots music, family activities and L.A.’s favorite local food vendors, all outdoors at the stunning Greek Theatre tucked within Griffith Park. If only you could also have a cold beer right at sunset. Oh wait... you can!”

The festival begins 2 p.m. at the Greek Theatre plaza, which will be transformed into an epic backyard BBQ, complete with lawn games, guitar lessons and performances by emerging acts like Sam Outlaw, Spirit Family Reunion, The Dustbowl Revival and The Wild Reeds. Multicultural variations on American barbecue will be offered by L.A. favorites such as Cassell’s (presenting a full pig on a spit), Status Kuo, Mallow Mallow S’mores, Urban Pie, The Lobos Truck (named the #1 Food Truck in 2014) and much more. California’s Lagunitas Brewery Company will be pouring craft beers, plus specialty cocktails and wines will be served.

The main stage performances begin at 5 p.m., featuring headliners Dawes (coming off of their recently released, critically lauded album “All Your Favorite Bands”), Punch Brothers, Gregory Alan Isakov, and two veterans of the sold-out 2015 Stagecoach Festival, The Lone Bellow and Della Mae. The music lineup represents the breadth of talent The Bluegrass Situation has come to represent, bridging the musical gap between traditional and progressive, and showcasing L.A.'s impact on the bluegrass scene with the rise of Los Angeles natives Dawes, Sam Outlaw, Dustbowl Revival and The Wild Reeds.
