Free    |  Nov 3, 2024  |  2:00PM - 3:00PM

As part of his Breath(e) project, Grounded, Ron Finley hosts a series of workshops in his temporary garden at the Hammer Museum, led by local artists. Each workshop can accommodate up to 20 participants, with all materials provided by the instructors. Availability is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis, with a sign-up sheet available in the museum lobby starting one hour before the program.

Learn the basics of the Japanese art of bonsai design in this hands-on tree workshop with Bonsai Saikei master Jordan Farar. Farar will briefly cover the history of bonsai, discuss what type of trees are ideal for this art form, and explain how to care for bonsai plants. Participants will also start trimming and styling their own small trees.
